Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University (WSU) Everett, WA campus invites applications for a full-time 9-month academic year, Scholarly Assistant Professor-Career Track, in Integrated Strategic Communication. The successful candidate will be the Program Director for the Integrated Strategic Communication program on the WSU Everett campus. This appointment is anticipated to begin August 16, 2024.The Opportunity:The Scholarly Assistant Professor-Career will teach up to four undergraduate courses each semester in the Strategic Communication department and contribute to interdisciplinary efforts at WSU Everett. You will be assigned courses that may be in one or more of the following areas related to advertising, public relations, marketing, and/or corporate communication: strategic campaign planning and management, digital content creation, web design and usability, persuasion, consumer insights, and multimedia storytelling. You may also advise undergraduate student groups and serve as a liaison with the professional community and other outside constituents.In addition to teaching duties, this position includes Program Director responsibilities to carry out Murrow's mission, vision, and values at WSU Everett to the students, college, university, community, professions, and industry. As the face of Murrow at WSU Everett, you will assume a high-profile role to publicly represent the College and its interests. In coordination with the Chair of the Department of Strategic Communication, you will provide strategic leadership; advance the professional development of faculty and staff; and oversee curriculum development and instructional assignments.Required Qualifications:• Master's degree in communication or a related field before the date of hire• Three years of professional experience in a related area (e.g., advertising, public relations, marketing or corporate communication).• Demonstrated record of, or potential for commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access efforts.Preferred Qualifications:• Professional experience with content strategy and creation across multiple media platforms and with digital innovations, social media monitoring and analytics, knowledge of software applications relevant to the position (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud products)• Five years of work experience in a related area (e.g., advertising, public relations, marketing or corporate communication)• Previous teaching experience.About The Edward R.
