Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation of equipment noted as appropriate for this class, ANDthe possession of a valid New York State driver's license Class B or higher.
Duties Description The Grounds Department at SUNY Cobleskill is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the position of Construction Equipment Operator. The selected individual will have:Good knowledge and ability to operate a variety of self propelled equipment including: backhoes, excavators, tractors, front-end loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, garbage truck and any other vehicles and equipment used in the regular maintenance and operations of the campus;Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position and to understand and follow simple oral or written instructions;Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor;Ability to operate assigned machines in a safe and effective manner;Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime;Be in possession of a valid NYS Commercial Driver's License Class B or higher upon hire OR after 12 months of employment.
