Your role...
The Accountant is a key position in the accounting team supporting expense accounting for Direct-to-Consumer activity for various businesses within EMEA territories for Warner Bros. Discovery. This person will be responsible for performing accounting activities related to expenses, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies
Your Role Accountabilities...
Ensuring that financial records related to expenses are complete, accurate and in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.Ensuring timely booking of expenses including the related accruals and prepaids.Preparing account reconciliations in a timely manner and ensure accuracy and completeness for expense related accountsParticipating in the month-end close process for expense related accounts including the preparation and review of journal entries and other financial reportsCollaborating with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, HR to ensure the timely and accurate recognition of expensesEnsuring compliance with SOX requirements, internal control environmentWorking with other members of the Controllership team to review, and resolve any intercompany discrepancies within the groupProactively leading and/or performing the period-end closing and operational activitiesDay to day accounting and support for the international equipment & real estate lease portfolioAnalyze lease contracts to correctly classify leases as per accounting stanards.Utilize specialized lease accounting software and tools to streamline lease accounting processes and maintain accurate records.Reconcile lease liability balances with lease payment schedules and ensure accuracy in financial statements and disclosuresPerforming periodic Account Reconciliations ensuring completeness and quality of Balance Sheet for selected EMEA entities and group of accounts e.g. Accruals, Prepayments, Payroll, Lease and Fixed AssetsAssisting with internal and external financial and compliance Audits, including SOXAd hoc analysis of various types of financial information as requested by ManagerWork closely with other departments, such as real estate, legal, and procurement, to facilitate effective lease managementPreparation of detail support and account reconciliations by country for key accounts required in statutory financial statements and related audits.Provide detail backup and audit support to Statutory Financial teams, external auditors, local authorities, and WBD management to ensure successful filings
Qualifications & Experience...
Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance and at least 2-4 years
of accounting experience in international environmentStrong practical and theoretical accounting knowledgeVery good written and spoken English is a mustProficient and experienced in MS Office applications, Excel in particular is a mustExperience with enterprise information systems, (SAP) a strong plus and preferredHigh Integrity team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organizationMotivated by challenging, high-energy, flexible environment. Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent and changing situations
