The Position:
Individual will work under the supervision of the RSVP Director to assist with senior volunteers and daily operations at the Senior Center. You will communicate and schedule volunteers to meet the needs of various work sites and programs critical to our community by performing a variety of routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work. The selected candidate will answer and take telephone calls, greet the public, assist with reports and maintain filing systems. Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills a must!
Location and Hours
This regular part-time position is 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday and is located at the Senior Center at 212 Yellowstone in Alliance.
About the Position Type
This position is designated part-time and is part-time benefit earning. Benefits include optional dental and vision insurance as well as vacation, sick leave accrual, personal holidays and paid holidays off.
In this Position, you Will:
Make phone calls to volunteers and patrons to recruit, enroll and place senior volunteers.Assist with composing and mailing quarterly newsletter and organizing volunteer recognition events.Use Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook to maintain records.Assist in preparing required reports to state and local agencies.Need to Have
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as computer skills, typing, filing, and record keeping.Two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.Experience working with the public, specifically with senior citizens preferred.Special Requirements
Must possess a valid State driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Appointees must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Driver's History, Criminal History and Background, Sex Offender and FBI Fingerprint Check.
