FTE: 0.600000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: The Registered Nurse isa practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing,and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in aninpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency indelivery of care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatientjob description has incorporated essential functions which are adaptedfrom the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition(2010). EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Clinical competence and experience inthe care and management of target patient populations specific to areaof employment.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge of nursingtheory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion ofeducation at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible forlicensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Upon hire any non-BSN nursewith less than one year of licensed registered nurse experience will berequired to enroll in a BSN (or higher nursing degree) program.Acceptance into a program is expected within 15 months of hire and thedegree program must be completed within 5 years of enrollment, or 6years if program is MSN, DNP or PhD in Nursing. Bachelor\'s Degree inNursing is preferred.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Requires current state ofWisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License froma participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). AmericanHeart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider(BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.AHA HeartCode Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for healthcareproviders or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 1 year ofhire.
