Maxson Masonry LLC headquartered at 885 275th Street West Branch, IA 52358 phone number: 319-631-5404, is looking to fill six (6) Laborer positions from 04/01/2024 to 10/31/2024. This is for full time, peak-load temporary employment. Duties include as a laborer; workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Mix, pour, and apply mortar and grout. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces. Workers will also clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, surveying and measuring equipment (tape measure), shovels, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must be able to pass random post-employment, employer-paid drug tests. Three (3) months of masonry and construction or related experience.
The pay is $23.89 per hour with overtime available at $35.84 per hour, based on hourly rate. The schedule is 40 hours per week from to 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Returning workers and workers with experience may be paid higher wage rates. Job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. Daily travel to worksites in the area of intended employment is required. The requested temporary workers will be based at 2369 Heinz Road, Iowa City, IA 52240, and will service clients within the Iowa City, IA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Davenport-Moline-Rock Island, IA-IL; Waterloo-Cedar Falls, IA; Southeast Iowa nonmetropolitan area; Northeast Iowa nonmetropolitan area; Dubuque, IA, including the counties of Johnson, Linn, Jones, Benton, Henry, Scott, Washington, Black Hawk, Cedar, Clinton, Jefferson, Keokuk, Louisa, Iowa, Muscatine, Tama, Buchanan, Delaware, Jackson, Jasper, Marshall, Poweshiek, Dubuque. Employer provides transportation to and from all worksites.
Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is Bi-Weekly. Employer will assist workers in finding housing. Employer will make all deductions required by law. Transportation, including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by a company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back to home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide worker, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and on the job training in the proper use of tools and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period only to the extent of the total employment period. As of the date of this posting, the three-fourths guarantee is not enfo ced.
