General Description
Under close direction of the tree trimming leader or right of way bucket operator, is responsible for performing a variety of duties to trim trees, remove brush and keep power line right of way clear.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Incumbent is in training to perform, or performs, the following duties:
Operates such equipment as tree-trimming truck with power bucket, chain saws, hydraulic trimmers and saws, climbing saddles, etc., to trim trees along power line right of way.
Places brush and limbs in chipper and operates chipper to compact the tree trimmings. Removes compacted tree trimmings to dump site.
Maintains and repairs equipment including trimmers, chain saws, etc.
Under close supervision, right of way bucket operator trainee is required to work near and around power lines and must be knowledgeable and careful to avoid contact with such lines.
Periodically attends training sessions pertaining to safety, first aid, COR and training and technical subjects.
Operates all related department equipment. Must maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License.
Is responsible for proper use and care of tools and equipment.
Incumbent must be available for on call duty
