Position Summary/Description:
THIS IS A TIME - LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF THREE YEARS .
This position will support the PI of the lab to ensure the smooth function and operation of the Kim Lab within the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The applicant is expected to perform duties to support the lab but should also expect a rich environment of teaching and learning about genetics and cancer biology. The primary function will be to oversee a colony of genetically engineered mouse models of cancer as well as perform molecular biology experiments. This will involve animal husbandry, genotyping of transgenic and knock-out mice, radiographic monitoring for tumor formation using methods such as ultrasound or microCT scans as well as administration of novel drug treatments to assess treatment efficacy.
Education and Experience:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
