ResponsibilitiesSummary of position:We are seeking a laboratory scientist (RSIII) with interests in viral therapies and production, hematopoietic cell therapies, gene editing and translational immunology. You will join a robust research team expanding upon our novel AAV and lentiviral platforms and HSC stem gene editing approaches for treating immune disorders. These projects are led by Dr. David Rawlings, Director of the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies at the Seattle Children's Research Institute.Job Responsibilities:Helping to plan, design, execute, trouble-shoot, and interpret experiments aimed at virus production and generating novel gene therapy/editing reagents, and testing the efficacy of gene therapy/editing reagents in cell culture or mouse models.Follow detailed experimental protocols, make observations, record data and present results.Assist others in the laboratory and help maintain a constructive laboratory environment.Good communication, teamwork, organization, interpersonal and creative thinking skills are a must.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Comfortable in fast paced environment and able to work collaboratively.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.Effective data collection, reduction, and summary skills.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively prioritize work across projects.Ability to work with general guidance/limited supervision.RequirementsRequired Education/Experience:PhD Degree level in applicable science field/related field OR.Master's Degree in applicable science field/ related field plus minimum three (3) years of related experience OR.Bachelor's Degree or higher in applicable science field / related field plus minimum five (5) years of related experience with a robust publication record.Related work experience varies by lab / position, as it relates to the research projects and research field assigned to this position.Required Credentials:N/A.Preferred:PhD in relevant specialty area or closely related field.Substantial prior experience in relevant area of research.Min to Max Hourly Salary$36.75 - $55.12 /hrMin to Max Annual Salary$76,440.00 - $114,649.60 /yrSalary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year).
