The University of Kansas Alzheimer\'s Disease Research Center (KU ADRC)is a National Institute of Aging P30-designated national leader in ADresearch with the vision to impact the lives of every patient and familydealing with Alzheimer\'s in the region and across the state of Kansasthrough our research, education, and clinical care. We are acomprehensive center at the forefront of clinical trials, lifestyleintervention trials, drug and translational research, and basic scienceresearch. Our research enables us to also provide leading edge clinicalcare and support for dementia caregivers. In addition, we provide a widevariety of both public education and training opportunities for theworkforce of tomorrow.
The primary role of the Research Informatics Specialist position is toanalyze workflows and implement custom coded or existing informationsystems to improve the operational capacity of research studies,administrative operations, and other initiatives across the KU ADRC andits supported projects. The Research Informatics Specialist workscollaboratively with KU ADRC Cores, KU ADRC leadership, specific projectteams to evaluate and improve the data and human workflow systems usedto collect, configure, analyze and disseminate KU ADRC work activitiesand data, and then identifies ways those systems can be optimally usedto solve a problem, improve a research activity, or increase efficiency.The Research Informatics Specialist will use a variety of approachesincluding workflow analysis, implementation of existing technologies,custom coding, and integration of multiple systems to improve andinnovate KU ADRC operations.
This is a hybrid position, therefore the role will require you tocomplete job duties both onsite at KUMC and virtually from a secure athome work location as determined by the supervisor.

Job Description:
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor\'s degree. A combination of education andrelated work experience may substitute for degree on a year for yearbasis.
Work Experience: Working knowledge of one or more software languagesor development environments, including API and communicationsfunctionality.
Preferred Qualifi ations
Education: Bachelor\'s in computer science, information technology,or related field

Previous clinical research experienceWorking knowledge of REDCapExperience with R programmingExperience with electronic medical record systems (especially EPIC)Applicable informatics certification through agencies such asAmerican Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) or equivalentSkills
