PostedJanuary 09, 2023Research associate in biomedical image analysisWe are seeking a researcher to use advanced image processing and state-of-the-artmachine/deep learning to map the vagus nerve from the brainstem to target organs, creating the first-ever vagus nerve connectome. The goal is to map nerve bundles over the 50cm length of the vagus using whole-body MRI, micro-CT, nano-CT, and 3D-MUSE microscopy. This is a grand challenge requiring creative solutions. The project will create Penta-bytes of data to analyze, creating a need for algorithms, visualization, and coding.A successful applicant must have a PhD degree in biomedical engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline. The person should have training in biomedical imaging, image analysis, statistics, and machine/deep learning approaches.
