The University of Chicago\'s Department of Human Genetics is searchingfor Research Assistant Professors to participate in statistical andcomputational research related to human genetics as part of the Programfor Computational Biology. The primary activity of the appointees willbe to conduct academic research in association with a faculty member ora team that includes biologists and statisticians. Appointees may alsoparticipate in educational activities at the interface of computationand biology, such as teaching computational methods relevant to biologyin bootcamp format. The appointees will complement existing areas ofstrength and contribute to project conception and execution, as well assoftware development. We are particularly interested in candidates withexperience developing and/or applying methods for genetic associationanalysis, population genetics, and single cell genomics. Experience withcluster and/or cloud computing will also be helpful. Compensation(including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent uponqualifications.
Applicants must have: 1) a doctoral degree or equivalent incomputational biology, statistics, computer science or relateddiscipline, and 2) completed postdoctoral training prior to the start ofemployment. Assessment of applications will consider experience indeveloping and applying statistical methods to genetic and genomicproblems, and with working as part of a collaborative team, as well astechnical expertise in statistical methods, computational methods, andsoftware development.
