Reliability Engineer

　　Position Description

　　Job Summary

　　The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for investigating and problem solving plant reliability issues utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques and principles. This position will support the maintenance department in the rationalization, planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities to drive improved and sustainable plant reliability in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Roofing’s Objectives. The Reliability Engineer will also provide leadership in the implementation and support of plant process modifications as required.

　　Reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.

　　Responsibilities include maintaining existing processes, developing and implementing maintenance projects, managing and guiding contractors and suppliers, identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost/benefit analysis and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.

　　Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects and preparing expense & capital expenditures.

　　Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities and coordinating with other departments to ensure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.

　　Performs root cause analysis and implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to downtime.

　　Progressively improves the professional maintenance status of all equipment on a prioritized basis using WCM techniques and ensures sustainability of completed improvements by the maintenance team.

　　Collaborates with Plant Resources (ex: Engineering, Maintenance, Production) to help develop a preventive maintenance program that drives improved reliability.

　　Interacts with plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projects.

　　Works closely with plant resources (ex: Engineering, Maintenance, Production) to coordinate any proposed changes using the change management system.

　　Develops and implements standard operating and maintenance procedures, and work instructions.

　　Ensures full documentation of all projects and systems to WCM and/or Project Management Office (PMO) standards.

　　Prepares and maintains data sheets, wiring and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), flow charts, and Bill of Materials required for the proper and efficient operation of plant equipment part of a reliability project.

　　Implement and support the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP.

　　Supports Autonomous Maintenance through training of operators and ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained. Provides training for operators and maintenance personnel.

　　Analyzes / stratifies accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc. in support of continuous improvement of reliability.

　　Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.

　　Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, and supports WCM initiatives.

　　Responsible for supporting WCM efforts to identify, drive projects, and help track cost savings efforts

　　Research, purchase, inventory, logistics and maintenance of Bill of Materials within the scope of reliability projects.

　　Development of detailed maintenance tasks and configured within our CMMS.

　　Responsible for managing project costs within budget.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Ability to understand operating principles of our major process equipment.

　　Project cost estimating, competitive bidding, critical path scheduling, resource funding, and capital funding.

　　PM technologies (vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic) and AutoCAD LT.

　　Experience working with and troubleshooting web manufacturing.

　　Knowledge/training on Professional Maintenance theory and practices.

　　CMRP Certification or equivalent (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional)

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience.

　　5 years’ experience as a Reliability Engineer or related field (preferred)

　　Professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.

　　Experience with P&ID, Equipment Layout Drawings, design optimization & troubleshooting.

　　Knowledge of Continuous Improvement toolsets.

　　Excellent problem solving capabilities and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

　　Flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication.

　　Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

　　Experience working with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
