Job Description Summary
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART) and can execute and manage Agile processes. Organizes and facilitates ART events and assist the teams in delivering value. Communicates with stakeholders, escalates impediments, helps manage risks, and drive relentless improvement.

Responsibilities
Promote DevOps and Continuous delivery – Promote DevOps, and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, including Built-in Quality and the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle.
Help coordinate releases and plan additional activities and milestones needed to deliver the solution, so it meets definition of done (DoD).
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanbans, and information radiators.
Master of complex facilitation and dependency management techniques to steer contributors through all the necessary ART ceremonies including program increment planning, demos and reviews.
During PI execution, own the feature completion tracking, metrics, and corresponding communications both within and outside of the train.
Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities
Escalate and track impediments and work to resolve escalated issues
Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
Identifies resource gaps across the teams and ART and makes recommendation to portfolio leaders.
Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering.
Partner with RTE Community of Practice and the agile centers of excellence to improve technical and quality practices.
Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevSecOps and Release on Demand competency.
Work with management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
Assist the business with economic decision making by facilitating epic estimation by teams and rolling up to achieve Program level visibility.
Understand and operate within budgets provided and ensure adherence to guardrails.
Participate in and support Agile Communities of Practice.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, or equivalent experience
Five years of experience leading Agile transformations
SAFe Release Train Engineer or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification
Experience developing technology roadmaps and strategies
Experience developing and implementing strategic IT technologies and related processes, procedures, and decision support
Thorough understanding of release planning readiness and continuous grooming
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Working Conditions
Office or hybrid office/remote environment
Occasional travel may be required
Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to applicable pay transparency and compensation posting laws. It is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.
Compensation:
The US salary for this position generally ranges between $150,000 - $180,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally in the US, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion at a rate of 20%.
