Job Description
Provides direct oversight for Skilled Nursing Regulatory Compliance operations for each Department
Assist the Chief Clinical Officer and Executive Director in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility
Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department as requested/required
Make written and oral reports/recommendations as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the facility and clinical services
Be the first responder to potential reportable allegations (i.e. abuse)
Provide guidance in developing a plan to report and investigate such allegations
Meet with the nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the department’s services, programs, and activities
Participate in facility surveys (inspections)/ Mock Surveys made by authorized government agencies
Assist the team during unannounced visits from CDPH
Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting,etc., as necessary
Complete accident/incident reports as necessary and as required by facility policy
Provide data to the QAPI Committee and/or participate in and collect data for the QAPI program as directed
Assist in screening new employee applicants as requested
Assist the Director of Staff Development in unit-based education sessions
Follow up with the Administrator and/or appropriate department manager on grievances submitted
Requirements
Must possess an active license as a RN in the state of California
Minimum three years of experience working in a skilled nursing facility in the state of California
In Depth Knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA Regulations as it relates to skilled nursing facilities
Superior written and verbal communication skills
