　　JOB SUMMARY:

　　Trinitas Regional Medical Center operates one of the most comprehensive departments of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry in New Jersey. Working in our Crisis/Intermediate Child & Adolescent unit, psychiatric nurses are assigned a caseload of patients and provide direct care to these patients, which includes facilitating social and emotional needs, supervising medication schedules and evaluating patient progress, as well as educating the patient and their family regarding their condition. These nurses also supervise the overall schedule of their shift and work as part of an interdisciplinary team whose focus is providing the best possible care for their patients.

　　The Registered Nurse must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development across the life span. Demonstrates knowledge of criteria to identify victims of abuse and neglect. Must have knowledge of Safety Issues/risks inherent in our Population Served.

　　The Registered Nurse will serve the following population:

　　Neonate/Infant

　　Pediatric

　　Adolescent

　　Adult

　　Geriatric

　　EDUCATION:

　　Graduate of or advanced matriculation in a Baccalaureate Degree in nursing program.

　　Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.

　　Domestic violence educational knowledge.

　　Adult/Child educational knowledge.

　　REQUIREMENTS:

　　Active NJ RN License in satisfactory standing.

　　Ability to perform all the competencies of the position is required.

　　Prior experience with psychiatric population preferred.

　　Previous registered nurse experience required.
