PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: To maintain, operate, inspect, and repair various types of ammonia refrigeration equipment. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance as directed by the Refrigeration supervisor, verify that all equipment is operating within the manufacturers specifications and tolerances through periodic testing and inspections.Perform PM maintenance and repairs as directed by the Refrigeration Supervisor on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, purgers, and other machinery.Control the equipment set points to accommodate the needs of the plant and maintain the integrity of our product.Remove ice buildup from evaporator drain pans, investigate the cause and correct the problemDrain oil from ammonia systemFill out daily reports as directed by Refrigeration SupervisorAssist other departments as needed.Compressor and pump shaft seal replacementsPerform oil and ammonia sampling for analysis on a regular scheduleWork directly with all refrigeration contractors, electricians, and pipe fitters when they are working on the ammonia refrigeration system to ensure that they are following all of the company safety policies and meeting work standards.Inspect ammonia detection systemEnsure that all ammonia system safeguards are functioning properly at all timesMust be able to read and interpret Pand ID drawingsOther duties as assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Also required is the ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, smell, and talk or hear. The employee will be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires the employee to frequently move or lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required to perform all aspect of this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must occasionally wear a breathing apparatus required for certain maintenance tasks and safety requirements.Must pass a pulmonary exam and annual exams going forwardQualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or Equivalent.Must possess the ability to stay alert and aware within their surroundings.Willingness to ensure that safety of WSI employees is a top priority.Person needs to be a self-starter, able to work alone, be very detail oriented.Knowledge of creating and maintaining a safe work environment.Ability to identify, correct and report Safety Hazards.Pleasant and professional manner in dealing with co-workers, supervisors, employees, outside agencies, and vendors.Prompt arrival and attendance.Ability to communicate in the English language, comprehending, speaking, reading and writing in English.Ability to function as part of the team, with co-workers, supervisor, and other departments.Ability to take direction.Additional Notes
