POSITION SUMMARY:
The Galveston Bay Refinery located in Texas City, Texas, is seeking an experienced Project Control Specialist to support all phases of project controls relating to Routine Construction Controls work in the continued development of work practices and delivering project performance awareness to key decision making stakeholders. This includes all budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change management, contractor/supplier performance and the routine review and conveyance of established reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate Advanced Construction Work Package (CWP) Constructability reviews with Engineering by reviewing forecast and Engineering estimates on the Project level.
Work with Engineering to understand package deliverables as it pertains to managing Contractor manpower.
Work with Contractors and Execution Leads to ensure CWP planning is on time.
Work with Execution Leads to develop and track against the following:
Control Estimate (Budget)
Monthly Forecast
Understand the Critical and Near Critical Path of a project.
Monitor, analyze and report project performance.
Support the change management processes for budgeting and cost control of assigned projects.
Communicate regularly with shareholders on the status of assigned projects.
Drive Project Controls team towards a consistent work practice.
Ensure both MPC and contractors adhere to project control procedure and reporting structures.
Identify and communicate improvements for cost control procedures while implementing and maintaining the current process.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Planning & Scheduling, or an equivalent field is preferred. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Minimum of two years of experience in executing, contracting, planning, and scheduling projects work is preferred.
SKILLS:
Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel/Access experience). SAP or Planning and Scheduling software a plus.
