  Primary Purpose

  The ASL Interpreter, Level 1 is responsible to provide ASL /English interpreting.

  Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities

  Possess the professional skills and knowledge required for the specific interpreting situation.

  Adhere to standards of confidential communication.

  Conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to the specific interpreting situation.

  Maintain ethical business practices.

  Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies.

  Demonstrate respect for consumers.

  Demonstrate respect for colleagues, interns, and students of the profession.

  Ergonomic Requirements

  Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities.

  All individuals are required to be able to perform essential functions without a significant risk of injury or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions listed above.

  Minimum Requirements

  Associates degree.

  Fluency in American Sign Language

  Obtain and maintain applicable state licensure requirements

  All employees are required to successfully complete and pass a background screen, which includes a criminal history check.
