R&D Electronics Gases Engineer - ScientistTonawanda, NY, United States | req15817What you will enjoy doing*You will engage and collaborate with Linde’s regional businesses, global customers, OEMs, and suppliers to develop and commercialize new materials, purification technologies, delivery systems and packaging solutions for its use in the Electronics specialty gases and advanced materials marketYou will lead projects for new product development from concept to commercializationDesign experimental apparatus, plan, run, and/or direct execution of experiments, conduct data analysis, and create efficient presentations for communicating technical resultsBecome an internal technical expert in the field of relevant semiconductor materialsMaintain alignment with development partners, commercial team and customers through all stages of technology developmentActively participate in external technical collaborations to identify opportunities for new products and/or development programsYou will also prepare invention disclosures and develop Linde intellectual propertyWhat makes you greatYou will have a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or related technology field, or a Masters degree and 3+ years relevant experienceYou will possess fundamental knowledge of physics and chemistry of gas-gas and gas-surface interactionsExperience with modeling of chemical and physical processes in Aspen, UniSim, or other process simulation softwareHands-on experience with handling of hazardous materials in R&D setting, including analysis of gases and liquids3+ years of new product development experience utilizing specialty gases / precursors in the semiconductor or related industry is preferredDemonstrated success in modeling chemical reactions, distillation, or gas purification is preferredDemonstrated success in new product development and deployment utilizing a stage-gate process is preferredCustom vacuum and/or high-pressure system design, build, or maintenance is preferredOperation of GC-MS, GC-TCD, FTIR, MS, UV-Vis, or other analytical methods is preferredMethod development is also preferredWhy you will love working with usLinde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company, operating in more than 100 countries worldwide.
