Major Responsibilities Works with Gundersen Health System patientand families to provide compassionate, individualized care in theprovision of Imaging services. Understands and applies the concepts ofradiography and or mammography/CT when performing patient exams.Demonstrates accurate knowledge of established protocols and equipmentoperation when performing exams on patients. Provides the best imagespossible to radiologists and providers for interpretation. Provides highquality service to customers in a cost effective and efficient manner.Carefully observes and follows all departmental radiation, mechanicaland electrical safety policies. Pays particular attention to patientsafety in regards to positioning patients. Keeps rooms and equipmentclean and safe for operation. Reports an erratic machine operation orpotential unsafe situations to Medical Physicist or BiomedicalEngineers. Educates patients regarding exam or procedure. Prepares andadministers contrast media and or medications within accepted scope ofpractice. Assumes responsibility to provide a quality learningenvironment for patients, their families, students and co-workers.Utilizes knowledge of regulatory compliance when working with patientsand their associated charges. Maintains confidentiality with othersregarding patient and organizational information. Responsible forattending staff meetings, in-services and continuing education.Continually strives to learn new technical information. Technologist maybe assigned to a primary site but is required to cover other sites asneeded. Performsquality control procedures on applicableequipment andevaluates images tomeet ACR and MQSA requirements. Performs otherjob-related responsibilities as assigned.
