　　General Summary Statement

　　Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs patient services utilizing digital radiographic equipment. Performs diagnostic angiographic procedures, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. Interventional technologists must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. S/he must maintain knowledge of radiation safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

　　Performs all necessary preparations related to Interventional Radiology Procedures.

　　Obtains patient history, explains procedures and addresses patient concerns as demonstrated by documentation and feedback.

　　Performs all necessary checks of diagnosis, prescription, Sorian order and patient identification as demonstrated by documentation.

　　Performs Interventional Radiology procedures following appropriate imaging protocols under the direction of the Interventional radiologist.

　　Compiles and reviews images, and prepares for radiologist review.

　　Reviews all diagnostic and therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy

　　Secures a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff

　　Integrates principles of infection control & infection prevention into practice.

　　Stock supplies and assure the cleanliness of the department.

　　Responsible for Interventional radiology scheduling

　　Participates in in-service education regarding equipment, supplies and procedures

　　Adheres to institutional research and investigational guidelines including: informed consent, patient rights, data collection, and billing requirements.

　　Performs as a team player – displays consideration for the needs of others and work objectives

　　Follows hospital and departmental policies

　　Education Training and Experience

　　Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program resulting in a two year certificate, associate degree or four-year baccalaureate degree.

　　1 year experience as an Interventional radiology technologist

　　Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card

　　Advanced examination in Vascular Interventional technology preferred

　　Licensure/Certification Required
