Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician to join our team. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of production to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. You will be required to perform first piece approval inspections, final inspections, and in-process inspections, as well as manage inspection records and gauge calibration.
Job Specifications:
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Waterford, MI
Pay Rate: $18 - $25 based on experience
Shift: 2nd shift Monday to Friday 4:30 pm to 3:00 am (must be willing to work OT as needed)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform FPA/10 pc First Piece Approval inspection for job set-up, tool changes, and work order changes
Perform Final Inspection when parts are received from outside processing to verify the heat treat and plating process
Visual verification of certifications received for compliance
Perform periodic daily In-Process inspections
Put nonconforming parts in quarantine physically and in the MRP system
Ensure proper identification and status of parts being moved to the Quarantine area
Assist production associates whenever necessary obtaining manufacturing/quality documentation and gauges
Scan and manage inspection records in the CEBOS system
Perform Process and Product Audits
Manage gauges by issuing gauges, calibration of gauges, gauge identification, and calibration status
Maintain the Quality books for Heading and Secondary Schedule out-sourced calibration services
Create and maintain a safe work environment; repair and/or report non-conformances to company safety policies and guidelines
Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma
Ability to use and read hand gauges, such as Micrometer, caliper, ring gauges, and plug gauges
Able to use Optical Comparator shadow graph (preferred)
Able to use Hardness Test Equipment (preferred)
Able to use Plating thickness gauge (preferred)
Ability to use vision Lab, helpful
Basic computer skills; email, Microsoft Office; Word, Excel
Ability to see small visual defects on parts
