Join our growing Distribution team today!Schedule: Tues-Fri 5am to 1:30pm and Sat 7am to 3:30pmHere is some of what your day-to-day will look like:Inspects all incoming shipments of assigned product groups, as well as products stored in the warehouse, may rate products according to Company and USDA specificationsMaintains necessary inspections and rejection recordsAccepts or rejects product based on condition, short weight, transit damage, grade, temperature, and other reasonsMay reject product without further consultation if a product doesn't meet Company's requirements/standardsSpot-checks frozen foods to ensure that it complies with the Company's standards and specificationsMaintains necessary rejection recordsInforms buyers on product quality as necessaryPrepares warehouse condition reports as requestedMay organize shipping schedule for all items having different degrees of maturity, gives shipping instructions to the assembly via warehouse supervisionDetermines the dollar cost and cause of warehouse shrink due to spoilageMakes recommendations to management regarding reduction in shrinkMaintains logs and records of spoilage, including information on overbuying, lack of retail performance, weak produce, etc.Prepares monthly and quarterly recaps for review by managementEnsures that appropriate personnel are trained in the proper handling, storage, rotation, and selection of produce to be shipped to the retail unitsEnsures that shipping crews are provided with daily information on lots to be shippedWho should apply?Must have experience with quality assurance in a produce or meat departmentMust possess the ability to motivate others to achieve desired resultsStrong analytical skills required for data interpretation and analysisComputer skills in word-processing and spreadsheet software preferredPossess good communication skills, including verbal and writtenPhysical/Work EnvironmentSome work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environmentIncumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminalYou may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during a normal workdayStooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job dutiesA GREAT PLACE TO GROW!All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
