Location: Sunnyside , Washington. Applicant \"MUST HAVE\" 3 months ofexperience.
Crops/Commodities: apples, cherries, nectarines, pears, apricots.Operate trucks to carry farm equipment and crops. Workers may drive vansthat are 14 or less passenger vans. Employees that want to be driversmust possess a valid driver\'s license. The driver\'s license is not apre-hire job requirement. The assigned drivers will drive workers fromliving quarters to work site and vice versa. The assigned drivers willprovide one weekly trip for workers to purchase groceries(transportation is provided for workers who must be provided housingunder applicable regulation). Workers will help to count trees/vines,visualize and monitor work and report to lead supervisors with concernsor praise, ensure all items of use are in safe and sanitary workingcondition. Moving ladders or bathrooms to the correct places andensuring sanitary conditions are followed. Work is done in the field forlong periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing upto 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work ontheir feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requiresrepetitive movements and extensive walking. Work required in fields whenplants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain,snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extremetemperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from10 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work duringoccasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Allergiesto ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides,or related chemicals may affect a worker\'s ability to perform the job.Workers should be able to do the work required with or withoutreasonable accommodations. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing isrequired upon reasonable suspicion of use and after a worker has anaccident at work. Must wear assigned personal protective equipment whenrequired. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots orother durable foot wear. Shorts, bathing suits or other casual clothingnot permitted. Workers wearing clothing inappropriate for work will notbe permitted to start work. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions anddirections to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and followinstructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual,complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expectedto perform basic duties in a timely and proficient manner without closesupervision. Workers must obey all safety rules and basic instructionsand be able to recognize, understand and comply with safety, pesticidewarning/re-entry and other essential postings. Employer will instructworkers in the safety and operation of equipment before use. Workersmust operate equipment, with or without direction, in a manner thatprotects operator, visitors, other workers, products, trees, crops andequipment. Failure to comply with safety requirements and operatinginstructions may result in termination. Non-employees access to worksites or adjacent areas strictly prohibited. Non-working minors may notbe present, adjacent to worksites, or left in vehicles during the day.
Workers may not report for work while under the influence of alcohol ordrugs. Except for moderate alcohol consumption in company housing duringnon-working hours, the possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol oncompany premises is prohibited and will be cause for
termination. Use, possession, transfer, offer, sale or manufacture ofmarijuana and/or controlled substances strictly prohibited. All worksites are alcohol an drug free work places. Employees must not reportfor work, enter the employers\' property or perform service while underthe influence of or having used alcohol, marijuana, illegal controlledsubstances, or any other substance that may in any way adversely affecttheir alertness, coordination, reaction or safety. This job requires aminimum of 3 months of agricultural experience working in an orchard,handling both manual and mechanized tasks, including showing proficiencywith orchard ladder use. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal orwritten statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Workersmust be able to perform manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy andefficiency. Saturday work required. Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs.Employer-paid post-hire drug testing is required upon reasonablesuspicion of use and after a worker has an accident at work.
