You’ll play a critical part in driving the highest quality and performance of our products across multiple initiatives.
Key Qualifications
7+ years professional experience in performance engineering and/or software engineering
Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages
Consistent track record designing and building automation test frameworks and tools e.g. unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing
High expertise in writing performance test plans, defining performance test strategy, large dataset generation techniques in designing performance tests, evaluating and simulating traffic to test applications
Experience with performing root cause analysis and providing updates to a wide spectrum of audiences
Familiarity with version control systems, modern CI/CD practices, testing for software
Practical experience with Kubernetes and monitoring tools e.g. Grafana, Splunk and AWS Cloudwatch
Extremely organized, diligent, and meticulous in every undertaking
Excellent problem solving, critical/analytical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to operate comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment
Description
We are looking for an experienced performance engineer. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other engineers, users and business leaders to ensure that we deliver high quality software with consistency and predictability. Your responsibilities will include: Design and implement automation test frameworks and tools Plan, strategize and execute test scenarios in close collaboration with development team and product managers on all levels of testing e.g. Integration, Regression and Performance to facilitate releases Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies Troubleshoot problems with malfunctioning software applications and recommend corrective action Participate in qualifying the product features for production release and sign-off Find and report on failure trends to identify long-term solutions
Education & Experience
BS/MS CS/CE or equivalent experience

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
