We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in the heart of West Linn, OR. This role will be immersed in the industry of tax and accounting services. As a Public Staff Tax Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities including the preparation of complex tax returns, client relationship management, and working with accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of intricate tax returns including individual, partnership, S-Corp, and trust tax returns

• Direct client interaction to foster and maintain relationships

• Adjustment of journal entries requiring a keen understanding of debits and credits and working with a trial balance

• Utilization of QuickBooks to assist clients with accounting transactions and bookkeeping corrections

• Response to tax notices in a timely and professional manner

• Execution of bookkeeping tasks with precision and accuracy

• Recording of time for accurate hourly billing purposes

• Willingness to work extended hours during peak tax season (February-April) without mentioning exact hours or days.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.

• Demonstrable understanding and experience in Accounting Functions.

• Experience in Auditing is required.

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements.

• Knowledge of Federal Income Tax regulations.

• Experience in preparing Federal Income Tax Returns.
