The ideal candidate will have experience in public health clinical programsand experience with electronic medical records. Candidate should have theability to adapt to different types of clinical situations on a daily basis.This public health nurse generalist will be assigned to a multi- disciplinarypublic health team and responsibilities will include working in theImmunization, Family Planning/STI, and Tuberculosis programs.
Public health nursing is primarily population focused and includes caring forindividuals, families, and communities using nursing, social, andpublic health sciences. Nurses are assigned to a multi-disciplinary publichealth team and work to provide individualized clinical, care coordinationand case management services. Additionally, all nurses participate in publichealth emergency response activities and perform public health nursingservices in accordance with public health standards and practices, withinthe scope of the Colorado Nurse Practice Act.
The Public Health Nurse I may provide clinical services such as immunizationsto adults and children, reproductive health and STI services, tuberculosistesting/treatment and communicable disease testing and follow up; providemedical care coordination services for a caseload of children and youth withspecial health care needs; provide individualized, in-depth casemanagement services to identify and address medical and psychosocial needs fora caseload of children, mothers, and families and connect them withappropriate resources and services.
The Public Health Nurse II is proficient with assignments, displays a highlevel of initiative, effort, adaptability, and commitment. The positionassumes expanded responsibilities and skills, increased involvement withHealth Department operations and initiatives, obtain additionalcertifications, and work autonomously. In addition, the Public HealthNurse II may provide clinical services such as immunizations to adults andchildren, reproductive health and STI services, tuberculosistesting/treatment and communicable disease testing and follow up; providemedical care coordination services for a caseload of children and youth withspecial health care needs; provide individualized, in-depth casemanagement services to identify and address medical and psychosocial needs fora caseload of children, mothers, and families and connect them withappropriate resources and services. Public Health Nurse I
The starting pay is $72,856.15 to $92,291.99 (dependent uponqualifications), plus benefits (see benefits tab for details).
Public Health Nurse II
The starting pay is $76,544.49 to $96,964.27 (dependent uponqualifications), plus benefits (see benefits tab for details).

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
Required Experience:

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current Colorado nursing license in good standing is required.
