Caretaker Job Description
Scatchet Head Community Club is a vibrant community on the south end of picturesque Whidbey Island. Scatchet Head offers a peaceful, rural, getaway feeling , while being within a short drive to the towns of Clinton and Langley. The ferry to the mainland is only a 15-minute drive away! The community offers beach access, a clubhouse, an indoor pool, BBQ pavilion, and sports courts for their member's use.
Overview of the JobThis position is a Part Time, live in position. The desired candidate will be an individual who takes pride in their work and will ensure the safe operation and upkeep of the buildings and grounds. You would be expected to keep all grounds tidy and landscaped, ensure buildings are maintained and presentable inside and out. Create logs to track and perform timely maintenance on buildings, equipment, and pool. Conduct minor repairs, various regular cleaning duties, landscape and gardening. Walk the grounds and within the buildings to ensure they are safe and secure, performing regular checks of high use areas. Be capable ofplanning and executing small projects as needed. Work as part of a team and on your own initiative. A good service ethic is essential and a positive, proactive, energetic attitude towards your work and people is a must. A good self-manager, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.
Reports toYou will report directly to the General Manager
Main Responsibilities of the Job include but are not limited to
• Perform minor repairs, maintenance tasks, e.g., painting, clean gutters/ windows, etc.
• Upkeep and landscaping of grounds to ensure they are safe and attractive for members and visitors
• Opening and closure of all buildings
• Ensure all communal areas are clean and secure daily and after group usage
o Cleaning to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing
o Replenish areas with supplies i.e., bathroom tissue, shampoo
• Movement of furniture, supplies, deliveries, or equipment as needed
• Oversee vendors, volunteers, and other workers as they complete projects
• Maintain safe conditions and safe working practices
• Adhere to company Policies and procedures
• Ensure all state, and local regulations are monitored, and keep Club compliant
o keeping logs/ records as needed.
o meet with and interact with regulatory officers as required
• Pool maintenance, to include taking state required classes
• Upkeep of grounds, courts, and gardens at all sites
o Seasonal duties such as sanding, snow removal
• Meet routinely with Facility and Roads and Bluff Chairs
o Prepare a report for the Board of all jobs and timelines
• Deal with members with courtesy and promptness
• Any other duties required by the General Manager or Board of Directors
Person SpecificationThis job requires that you have:
• Working knowledge of general maintenance procedures and repair techniques
• Basic understanding of electrical , plumbing, and carpentry systems (DIY Level)
• Problem Solving skills for addressing
