Job Description:

Field Technician III

This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The incumbent will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter preforming the following tasks: Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment. Travels to various sites to perform repairs and troubleshoot problems. Prepares incident/performance reports and trainings for customers.

Performs a range of technical tasks and provides site support.

Modifies, moves, and installs a range of new equipment.

Troubleshoots a range of hardware and software problems and interconnectivity issues.

Performs a range of integrity testing and interviews customers to gather information about problems.

Prepares and presents a range of incident/performance reports to the customer and to the service delivery manager.

May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.75 - $40.25. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
