Salary Range is $50,000 to $54,500 annually
DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:The Project Manager leads research and project implementation in support of the City of South Bend and, specifically, the Violence Prevention staff. The Project Manager will build tools and processes to support communication and accountability across the Violence Prevention team and will promote the effective implementation of evidence-based policies in the City of South Bend. Plans, organizes, conducts, and supervises a variety of violence prevention/intervention programs for youth and young adults at recreation community centers and citywide.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Responsible for the supervision of the Violence Prevention Coordinators
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of initiativesPlan, organize, manage, participate in, and direct the work of the project, including developing and implementing plans and evaluating outcomesPrepare long-term strategies in coordination with stakeholders and work closely with them to incorporate input and solicit supportRecommend, develop, and implement processes, systems, and projects that promote communication, mutual accountability, and improved outcomes.Develops, organizes, and implements a prevention curriculum for the youth at the recreation community centers.Manage and balance multiple partners needs and help them overcome obstacles.Lead and/or participate in project update meetings with operational and executive partnersOversees MBK for the Division of Community InitiativesPlan and coordinate occasional events.Conduct policy research to identify best practices for addressing needs in South BendComplete administrative tasks as assignedNON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma required.Bachelors Degree preferred.Spanish proficiency preferredMinimum three years of program or project management experienceKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent project management skillsDemonstrated experience in developing clear timelines and goalsOutstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsHigh degree of comfort with stakeholder and change managementExperience developing collaborative and innovative approaches that improve outcomesComfortable working with law enforcement, government, community, and external stakeholders, even when stakeholders have competing interestsExcellent conflict resolution and facilitation skillsExperience analyzing data and using data and evidence to evaluate and improve outcomesAble to work with sensitive information while using appropriate measures to safeguard privacy and handling sensitive situations appropriatelyDemonstrated ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, humility, and good humorComfortable working with Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel, and learns new technologies easily.CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION: Valid Drivers License if required to drive a City vehicle

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office and may be quiet to loud in the field. Exposure to adverse weather conditions such as cold or heat may prevail in situations involving outside meeting engagements. Entire office is smoke free.
