Client Summary:The Health System is designed to increase efficiencies and economies ofscale; improve quality and outcomes; and expand access to advancedprimary, specialty, and ambulatory care services throughout a wideclinical network. The Health System includes more than 7,200 physicians,including general practitioners and specialists, and 13 free-standingjoint-venture centers.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport withpotential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understandservice requirements. Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties;providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient;adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specifiedposition; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protectiontechniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, andknowledge of exposure factors. Adheres to established infection controlpolicies and procedures.Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following establishedstandards and procedures; processing radiographs; observing radiographicresults; making necessary adjustments.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records(including the completion and verification of exams.Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenancerequirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshootingmalfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories;evaluating new equipment and techniques.Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determineinventory level; anticipating needed supplies;Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures,rules, and regulations.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by maintaining regulatory CMErequirements. Attends educational workshops; reviewing professionalpublications; establishing personal networks; participating inprofessional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Completes yearly Age Specific CompetencyOther relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology, MinimumLicensing Requirements: New York State License (L.R.T), AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)
