Amentum is seeking a Project Engineer 6 to be based in Aiken, SC.

　　Purpose and Scope:

　　Serve as an expert staff contributor or project lead for a broad program involving applications related to installation and testing of complex systems and subsystems. Perform in a lead or supervisory role for project engineers/technicians. Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the company, project, or contract.

　　Essential Responsibilities:

　　Contribute to development of project plans and support proper construction and installation. Measures, compiles, and reports Quality Assurance performance metrics and relevant benchmarks as required by the Program Manager and customer representatives' Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. Apply comprehensive knowledge of design specifications on more complex systems/projects. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures. Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. Contribute subject matter expert knowledge on the most complex technology applications problems. Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations. Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations. Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and procedures.

　　Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

　　Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 15 years' experience in the field of specialty. Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Possesses well developed leadership skills. Requires the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad perspective. Must qualify for and maintain a security clearance and possess a current state issued driver's license. Must be a US citizen. Dual citizenship is not allowed.

　　Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

　　Typical office or field environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required. Position may require travel.
