The Project Development Senior Advisor will manage and grow a regionalportfolio of pre-construction utility-scale renewable energy projects withinEngie's U.S. development pipeline. The Senior Advisor will collaborate witha cross-functional team to ensure projects advance on the appropriateschedules and within allocated budgets to support origination, financing,and construction, to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energyaspirations and growth strategy within North America. The Senior Advisor willhelp develop regional strategy, including identifying markets of interest,guiding greenfield prospecting efforts, and pursuing project acquisitionopport
This position is located in Houston, Chicago, Santa Barbara, or Denverand it is eligible to work in many locations across the U.S. The positionreports to the VP of Development.
What you'll do:Guide regional development strategy for utility-scale wind, solar, andstorage projectsBuild and manage small team of developers to support regional effortsManage development activities of utility-scale wind, solar and storageprojects from feasibility to the start of constructionEngage with staff to coordinate energy assessment, environmental,permitting, transmission interconnection, land acquisition, and designactivitiSupport energy offtake, financing, and project M&A discussions,including due diligence activitiesEnsure projects are progressing on schedule and within budgetObtain local project permits and tax agreementsSelect, manage, and direct third party consultants and review their reportsEngage with landowners and stakeholders to provide information throughout thedevelopment processReview project pro forma financial modelsEvaluate viability of early stage and acquisition projectsConduct site visits to define site characteristics and develop relationshipswith local stakeholdersRepresent company in industry advocacy groupsRemain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and thenational industry trends impacting the future of wind and renewabledevelopment opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate tocustomers.Represent ENGIE at national wind and renewable energy events as speaker,panelist and wind energy leader.Carry out other duties as assigned.
What you bring:Minimum 10 years of project development experience in renewable energy.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Economicspreferred.Proven record of accomplishment in renewable energy development, includingexperience taking projects through financing.Experience with utility-scale storage projects preferred.Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and toprioritize critical path tasks.Track record of successfully working with public officials to obtaindevelopment permits, tax abatements, etc.Working knowledge of technical development disciplines, includinginterconnection, resource assessment, turbine operation, GIS, etc.General understanding of market trends and resulting impacts on projectdevelopment.Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attentionto detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences,including landowners, potential offtakers, government officials, andcorporate leaders.Results-oriented leader with the ability to work independently within a largematrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the variouscross-functional employee groups.Strong desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energysolutions across North America.
