Job Overview:
McDermott has an immediate opening for a Project Controls Specialist in Houston, TX. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for cost control and scheduling activities on projects with the purpose of providing the Project Management Team with accurate cost forecasts, risks and opportunity monitoring, progress, performance and schedule data to manage the project.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Developing EAC (Estimate At Completion) monitor and control AC (Actual Cost) using systems such as JDE Oracle or MS Project; and coding and mapping cost based on CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure) at the activity work level for cost categorization in oil & gas or related/comparable industries.
Understand load Original budgets in Cost and progress systems.
Develop and maintain logically linked level 3 and level 4 activity schedules, for EPC projects in the Oil and Gas Industry according to precedence flow planning, using best practices.
Able to produce workforce histograms and progress and quantity curves in connection with the schedules.
Maintain and review sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other operations for control of critical path and overall project durations.
Expedite operations that are delaying the schedule and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
May need to prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment for input into Work Packages.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor in Engineering
Preferred knowledge on JDE, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project
Must have good hold on Microsoft Office software, Must be able to use advanced features in Excel (curves, histograms, dynamic tables, formulas, etc.).
Commands of the Spanish language will be desirable, but not required.
