  Job Description:

  The Office of Undergraduate Education ( OUE ) seeks a Program Specialist I to serve as a critical program manager in the Student Success Center. The Program Specialist role assists in the day-to-day operations of the Peer Tutoring (PT) Program. Under the general supervision of the Student Success Center Assistant Director, the PT Program Specialist is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Peer Tutoring program, which serves as a peer-to-peer tutoring lab for common math and science tutoring. The Program Specialist will hire a team of student leaders and be responsible for initial and ongoing training of the team as well as the day-to-day operations of the program. In addition to their specific program duties, the Program Specialist will be given many other opportunities to develop content for student academic enrichment throughout the year. Attendance at University events in the evening and on weekends on occasion requested by supervisor. This position is eligible for limited remote work opportunities after training is complete

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, with a minimum of four years of experience in program/project development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Preferred Education and Experience:

  Master’s Degree Preferred in Education, Student Development or related field. Two (2) years of experience in program/project development in a higher education setting.

  Experience supervising a diverse staff is preferred. Willingness to learn higher education software such as PeopleSoft, Qualtrics, Accademia, and Blackboard. Be detail-oriented and have strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

  Ability to:

  Interpret, apply and explain relevant regulations, policies, and procedures

  Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and make effective and programmatically sound recommendations

  Coordinate multiple projects, set priorities and meet critical deadlines

  Exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines

  Prepare clear, concise and complete reports and other written material

  Make effective presentations to faculty, students and parents (Orientation)

  Maintain accurate records, files, and databases

  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty in the course of work

  Maintain confidentiality of information

  Type with sufficient skill to enter data into a computer and produce correspondence, reports or promotional materials

  Knowledge of:

  Analytical and research principles and techniques

  Proficient with Excel and database management

  Standard office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of office equipment
