POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for providing support to the Program Director, management team, and shelter staff with administrative functions necessary to operate the Families with Children commercial hotel for migrant families.
Salary: $38,000 - $40,000
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for administrative tasks, including monitoring records for the required documentation, collecting documents from clients, and filing records accordingly.
Greets clients and visitors, logs them into the system and then directs them to the appropriate party.
Assists with clerical duties related to the program, including payroll information, scheduling, and other reports as assigned.
Understands and follows the agency and funding source guidelines and protocols, including HIPAA and Confidentiality.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director, Homeless Programs
SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Bachelors’ DegreeREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
At least three (3) years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant, preferably working with abused families or women with special needs.
Experience with data entry
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Organized and detailed
Ability to work independently, takes the initiative, and work well as a team member
Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of homeless families, including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly, and individuals with substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
Familiarity with DHS regulations is a plus but not required.
Must be computer-literate and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal skills are required.
Must have the ability to be flexible with schedule as needed.
Indoors; hearing; talking; walking; sitting; using hands on objects, tools or controls. Occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds.
Other job characteristics – need to be exact or accurate; repeat the same task.
