Product Safety Engineer
Intertek is searching for an Product Safety Engineer to join our Assuris team in our Arlington Heights, Illinois office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in product safety and engineering!
The Product Safety Engineer position is responsible for evaluating product safety levels and recommending measures or procedures to reduce or eliminate hazards.
What you’ll do:
Product Safety Engineering
Identify potential hazards associated with products and offer solutions
Write technical reports to convey key findings
Understand essential safety requirements and regulatory requirements, as applicable
Present test results and technical findings to clients
Develop safety specifications/requirements
Ability to research independently to troubleshoot potential issues
Identify opportunities for innovation such as new technologies and processes
Project Management
Manage projects to meet deadlines
Clearly communicate project requirements and expectations to team
Manage accounts to ensure customer satisifaction
Be proactive on customer needs and issues
Participate in and lead customer meetings or presentations
Prepare proposals to address client needs
What it takes to be successful in this role:
Technical background - degree in Engineering or Sciences is preferred
0-3 years job experience in technical field
Experience in design, manufacturing, or quality assurance is valuable
Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills
Project management experience is valuable
Self-motivated and dedicated to producing professional deliverables
Must be resourceful and capable of handling multiple projects simultanesously
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Able to work well on a team
Willing to travel up to 10%
