JOB REQUIREMENTS: This mill position is expected to achieve targetedresults in safety, production output and product quality. The Drawbenchoperator will set up and operate all types of equipment that reduces theOD, ID and/or wall of a steel tube. Must be able to demonstrate stronggeneral mechanical skills. Must be trainable and be able to demonstrateacceptable levels of comprehension on draw bench equipment processes.Ability to use zero measuring equipment, including micrometers and tapemeasures. Responsibilities Set up and operate all types of steel tubereduction equipment to reduce the outer dimension (OD), inner dimension(ID) and/or wall of a steel tube. Equipment includes drawbenches andpointers. Review mill orders to ensure optimum processing. Reportprocessing changes to department lead. Determine needed tooling forspecified orders and process pieces through actual set up to ensureconformance to specifications. Ensure proper alkaline cleaning ofproduct including blowing of plugs. Hazardous waste management Operatecomputer terminal, fork trucks, and cranes to accomplish own work. Keepwork area in good housekeeping condition. Maintain equipment, performbasic preventative maintenance, and engage in equipment troubleshootingactivities. Eagerly participate in problem solving teams and kaizenevents to improve operating performance. All other duties as assigned.***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications HighSchool Diploma or GED is required. Previous manufacturing experience ispreferred. Must be able to read, write and perform basic mathcalculations without difficulty or additional assistance. Must betrainable and be able to demonstrate acceptable levels of comprehensionon various types of equipment and machinery and various aspects ofintricate production techniques. Must be able to demonstrate stronggeneral mechanical skills. Must actively support, participate andpositively embrace an empowered team culture and have excellentcommunication skills. Must be able to concentrate in a dynamic workenvironment and be detail-oriented in order to maintain desired levelsof quality, keep accurate accounts of time and production and achieveexpected levels of throughput while maintaining a safe workingenvironment.
