This position is responsible for driving innovation and profitable growth across the Applicators product category with focus on SMO (storage, mobility, and organization), tools, and extension poles. Brands that are part of the portfolio are Purdy, Sherwin-Williams, Valspar, Bestt-Liebco, and Private Label.This position will collaborate with customers, brand, digital, customer marketing, marcomm, R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, planning, quality, operations, sales, legal, and finance teams to ensure successful planning and execution of new product development and maintenance of business projects.Responsibilities include new product development, SKU rationalization, portfolio optimization, and overall product lifecycle management with focus on driving customer inspired innovation that delivers end-user solutions and differentiates Sherwin-Williams from the competition.Capturing voice of the customer through market research and ideation sessions to fill the innovation pipelineLeading cross-functional teams through Stage Gate process for new product development and maintenance of business projectsCollaborating with key stakeholders to plan and execute new product validation to ensure successful commercializationSupporting product line reviews by identifying opportunities for new products, portfolio optimization, and SKU rationalizationSupporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives for Consumer Brands GroupEvaluating product quality trends and driving improvement opportunitiesProduct sales and profit budget achievementProduct expense cost optimizationDirecting the work of a marketing assistantPerforming other duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTSFORMAL EDUCATION:Required:Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related fieldPreferred:MBAKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:Required:5 years experience in Marketing, Channel Mgmt., Product Development, or Sales with progressively more responsibility and a track record of delivering resultsPreferred:Previous supervisory or coaching experience preferredPrevious Product Management experience preferredSherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
