Client's Fort Wayne Manufacturing Facility is hiring a Process Engineer to join their Forging and Tooling team. At Client, our Process Engineer's use a hands-on approach as they strive to find lean solutions and implement manufacturing techniques and process improvements. They will review and troubleshoot issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences, while ensuring production-part acceptance and manufacturing readiness. The Process Engineer is responsible for establishing control charting of critical features and processes while monitoring results and determining machine and process capabilities and performance reliability; using that information to manage implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and time estimates. Identifies optimal tooling for machining.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with various members of the production team, troubleshooting equipment using a hands-on approach, and designing tools using Mastercam, CAD, or other design tools. Job Description
Develops manufacturing equipment purchase proposals by studying manufacturing plans and commitments; evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.
Recommends new manufacturing equipment by identifying vendors and operating equipment, evaluating equipment capabilities and service history; evaluating vendor service and support.
Completes equipment cost projections by analyzing investment, return, and savings.
Monitors equipment installations by advising crews.
Meets production requirements by designing equipment modifications as needed
Prepares equipment operators by conducting training; providing reference and support resources.
Maintains process integrity by developing and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
Maintains equipment records by filing documents; updating equipment database.
Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
Completed Bachelor's degree in engineering field, or relevant combination of education and experience required.
Experience troubleshooting equipment and finding solutions in an automotive manufacturing environment required.
