About College Intern – Maritime Finance Environmental

  Some of what you'll be doing:

  This is a part-time school year and full-time summer internship opportunity expected to last one year. This position will support the Environmental / Enterprise Finance Team in development of the budget, invoicing and Port-wide Financial Coding including development of training materials and financial coding review. This position is expected to engage with Cohorts including the Small or Attractive Asset Management Cohort as a supporting role to the Cohort lead, the Environmental Long-Term Litigation Hold team, and the Joint Asset Program.

  Learn about the financial functions of the Port

  Learn about the operations of all aspects of the Port

  Participate in invoicing and other financial analysis

  Environmental Liability Accounting and Forecasting

  Who you are:

  A student – You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) of a degree program.

  Use of technology – You have knowledge on Microsoft Office products and be a quick learner especially with technology. SharePoint and Financial software experience is a bonus.

  Organized and proactive – You have a track record of successfully meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced working environment. You can balance and prioritize multiple, simultaneous projects with little supervision.

  Desired – You are interested in understanding the role finance, asset management, collaboration, and cross-department teams have in organizations and are willing to deeply engage and provide your input.

  What else you need to know:

  Work Schedule – This is a part-time school year and full-time summer internship opportunity expected to last one year. Normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, flexible work start and end times and days are available in this role. This can be discussed with your manager on a week-by-week basis. Work dates are flexible for this position to help accommodate summer vacation plans, school events such as mid-terms and finals, and holidays.

  Work Environment – You will work in a hybrid remote/office environment with regular site visits as needed. Flexible work arrangements are available. You must live in Washington State.

  Limited Duration – This is a limited duration position and is expected to last no longer than one year.

  Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, training, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

  Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington State within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
