Educational Advisor for GEAR UP, a college and career readiness programoperating in cooperation with Holyoke public schools. Applicant shouldhave experience working with middle and/or high school students andknowledge of concerns impacting students including poverty andidentity-based discrimination. Responsibilities include, but are notlimited to: developing and facilitating interactive activities(including college and other field trips) to promote college and careerawareness including the college admissions process and hosting workshopson skills such as time management, financial literacy and goal setting,as well as mandatory and timely record keeping and documentation.Knowledge of financial aid processes including FAFSA is stronglypreferred. The ideal candidate for this position will: Have excellentwritten and verbal skills. Be able to work independently but enjoy beingpart of a friendly and diverse team. Be passionate about making apositive impact in the lives of young people and proactive aboutsupporting students in developing identity, setting and achieving goals,and learning life skills.
