Job Description Summary

　　In this role you will be a member of the Process & Commodity Team as part of the larger Edison Works Engineering Delivery Team. You will be responsible for providing commodity specific manufacturing (composites, fabrications, complex machined structures) and process (coating, welding, brazing, etc.) expertise to the Edison Works design teams to improve delivery times of development hardware. You will work across disciplines and functional areas to engage with suppliers to help meet delivery timelines.

　　Uses in depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and/or commodities to consult internal NPI engineering teams process optimization.

　　Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve processes. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.

　　Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of, manufacturing engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

　　Leads functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

　　Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

　　Required Qualifications

　　Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

　　Minimum of 5 years of experience in Design Engineering

　　Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD SECRET clearance.

　　Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university

　　8 years experience in Design or Manufacturing Engineering

　　Existing DOD Security Clearance

　　In-depth knowledge of manufacturing commodities and processes

　　Demonstrated knowledge of model based enterprise (MBE) and model based definition (MBD)

　　Demonstrated experience using LEAN Methodologies with a Continuous Improvement Mindset

　　Familiarity with Teamcenter, Siemens NX, non-conformance disposition

　　Experience in the design and manufacture of complex, precise aerospace parts.

　　Strong oral and written communication skills.

　　Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

　　Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

　　Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

　　Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
