Brightstar Care is looking for a team of Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are passionate about home care and specifically pediatrics! Home Care allows for your clinical skills to shine and make a direct impact on your patient. Unlike nursing homes or hospital settings, home care nurses require the confidence and skills to medically take care of their patients on their own. BrightStar equips our Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with the support they need to feel prepared to do so. We aim to connect our Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with cases where they build long-term relationships with their patients and families. Available Case: Pediatric nurse to work with an 8-month-old boy in Oak Grove, Missouri. Schedule is weekly Thursday - Sunday 8pm-4am. Our sweet kiddo was born at 31 weeks and experiences esophageal reflux issues and vocal chord paralysis as a result. He enjoys being sung and read to! Our nurses are responsible for managing his overnight feeding and administering medications during his feeding. All medical care provided follows doctor's orders. Our kiddo's parents are both teachers and appreciate their overnight nurses so they may be well-rested for school the next day! Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in a private home setting - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician - Monitor and assess the patient's condition, including vital signs and symptoms and notify appropriate personnel of any change - Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, changing diapers, and feeding - Collaborate with the patient's healthcare team to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan - Educate patients and their families on infection control - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws Experience: - Previous experience as a Private Duty Nurse or in a similar role is preferred - Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures - Familiarity with medical equipment and devices, specifically g-tubes - Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique - Proficiency in using electronic health record systems - Strong communication and interpersonal skills Requirements: - Current unrestricted RN or LPN license in MO or a multistate license - Reliable car/auto insurance and valid/unrestricted driver's license - Negative TB test within last year -Clean background and criminal record - Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations, is authorized to work in the United States and at least 18 years old - BLS CPR through American Heart Association or Red Cross Please note that specific skills may vary depending on the needs of individual patients.
