  As a Principal Software Engineer - People and Finance Tech , you will help drive our insurance business transformation as we redefine the experience for our customers. Our Principal Engineer is a lead member of the engineering staff working across Business Services Engineering, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Infrastructure Engineering to ensure that we provide a friction-less experience to our customers, while maintain ing the highest standards of protection and availability.

  The ideal candidate has deep Java , Go, or Node.js development experience along with a proven background in Microservices (REST API), PostgreSQL, Linux, Containers Architecture (Kubernetes) , EDA (Event Driven Architecture) using Kafka, as well as System and Network design experience .

  Position Responsibilities

  As a Principal Engineer, you will:Focus on multiple areas and provide leadership to the engineering teamsOwn complete solution across its entire life cycleInfluence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems for building enterprise-class business applicationsAccountable for the quality, usability and performance of the solutionsLead in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationUtilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesMentor more junior team members professionally to help them realize their full potentialConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsQualificationsFluency and Specialization with at least two modern languages such as Java, C++, Python or C# including object-oriented designExperience in building products using micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIsExperience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systemsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeFluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational FrameworkExperience in leveraging PowerShell scriptingExperience in existing Operational Portals such as Azure PortalExperience in application monitoring tools and performance assessments: Splunk or Application InsightsExperience in Datacenter structure, capabilities and offerings, including the Azure platform, and its native services.Experience in security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth.Experience in Azure Network (Subscription, Security zoning, etc)Experience in GenesisIn-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsStrong problem-solving abilityAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication).Wiki (Atlassian), CI/CD Pipeline, tesla, Azure Just-in-Time (JIT), VM Access, Azure Cloud Services (Classic), Azure Active Directory, Azure Automation AccountsDesign and development of ALM featuresDevelopment and Management EAPExperience6+ years of professional DevOps experience4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service1+ years of people management experienceEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience#LI-MK1

  Annual Salary

  $72,000.00 - $236,500.00

  The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
