  The Principal Giving (PG) team has an exciting opening for a Strategic Analyst. This is a full-time permanent position.

  The Principal Giving Strategic Analyst works closely with the Principal Giving/University Initiatives Senior Strategic Analyst and the PG team with a focus on developing plans to powerfully engage donors and prospective donors in support of the UW’s top strategic priorities. This position will lead the development of informed, creative and sophisticated strategies to identify and engage qualified Principal Gift-level prospects and establish a lifelong relationship with the UW. This position will design and present strategic analysis and Principal Giving-level donor engagement mapping of high-level University priorities and initiatives including those at schools, colleges and campuses across the UW.

  What You Will Do: Principal Giving Pipeline Prospect Analysis and Engagement (85%)

  • Utilize information provided by the Prospect Research team, Advancement CRM, unit colleagues and independent surveying to compile research of philanthropic habits, demographic styles, local/national connections, meaningful relationships and areas of interest or passion to drive engagement strategies.• Use prospect data to construct prospect strategy papers, monitor prospect key interests and assess viability of developing meaningful pathways relating to areas of excellence at the UW.• Collaborate with the PG team and senior development colleagues to review and analyze prospect information to assess long-term philanthropic potential. Develop prospect strategies that inform recommendations for activities and next steps to start or deepen relationships.• Track donor strategy and engagement plans for prospects in service of unit and University priorities. Identify a variety of cultivation tactics that incorporate existing activities and suggest custom outreach that would further the relationship between a prospect and the UW.• Set strategic plans, advise on qualification opportunities and develop follow-up plans for Relationship Managers, senior fundraising colleagues and volunteers. Drive strategy touch points with these colleagues to build closer connections with prospects.• Deeply understand and deploy PG team goals and objectives, campaign structures, unit priorities and related information to better analyze and drive strategies for engaging potential Principal Giving prospects.• Create, prioritize and manage lists of highly rated prospects to compile information on each prospect for analysis and implementation. Ensure accuracy of information in CRM and other tracking tools.• Provide pre-campaign and campaign analysis and planning. Pull reports, provide analysis and evaluate key benchmarks.• Work closely with the Senior Strategic Analyst to set annual strategic plans for the Principal Giving Pipeline Prospect program.

  Principal Giving Program and University Initiatives Project Management (15%)

  • Manage the process for the PG team’s portfolio review and facilitate updates and next steps with the Prospect Development team.• Manage various PG events as they relate to Principal Giving pipeline development, including, event planning and execution, and maintaining a strategy around the cultivation of invitees/attendees.• Maintain invitation lists with high-net-worth individuals, develop a tracking system for post-event engagement for guests, and brainstorm and promote engagement activities for non-attendees, where appropriate.• Provide support for University Initiatives prospect analysis and prioritization, as well as specialized University Initiatives projects.• Pull reports, provide analysis and evaluate key benchmarks.• Other duties as assigned.

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree AND four years of progressively responsible project management, development and/or advancement experience.

  Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. What You Bring:

  • Experience in portfolio or prospect management and oversight.• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidence and protect confidential information.• Knowledge of Advancement principles.• Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and customer service approach.• Demonstrated organizational ability and attention to detail.• Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for correspondence, reporting, databases, forms, etc.

  What You Can Expect:
