What's the role?

　　HERE is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer with Architecuture & Programming experience for the Infrastructure and Cloud Tooling team.  The Principal DevOps Engineer is accountable for architecting, designing tooling that we Develop for our Development community to leverage.

　　Our Engineers work on solving complex infrastructure problems, develop automation to fix issues with least possible human intervention (self-healing cloud centric infrastructure designs), and contribute to common HERE automation platforms.  Everything from CDNs, Network Design, Computer Virtualization, Operating Systems, Storage, Security, Computer Architecture, Product Architecture etc. are pulled together to develop low maintenance, 0-downtime Solution Architecture, covering operability, monitoring and management.

　　This Role works with Product Teams (R&D, Architects, Software Engineers, Product Managers) and Project Managers in a cross functional team environment.  Focus on the infrastructure and operational elements of designing & deploying a service; examples include but not limited to: ensuring services are highly available, have robust infrastructure capacity in place and are fully resilient across multiple data centers and in Public/Private Cloud.  Automate as much as possible to eliminate human errors.  Work closely with key stakeholders, including Trust (Security), Compute (HERE Platform), Cloud and many others to ensure our tooing satisfies all requirements while being compliant and targeting at least permissive model.

　　Day to Day

　　Collect the requirements from stakeholders. Architect, design, develop, operate/maintain highly available, robust, resilient & supportable solutions and ensure a streamlined/automated application tooling.Perform Proof-of-Concept work needed to form data points for various technology/tooling decisions, present these to your team, Technical Product Manager and Leader(s).Translate conceptual design to physical layout. Backup and recovery best practices to be used for prevention of data loss. Ensure high level of (service) security and architect/implement disaster recovery.Participate and occupationally drive technical deliverable with or without assistance from a designated Technical Project Manager. Establish/reiterate the ways of working with larger teams/organization.Work as part of a service specific engineering team to design tooling that reduces cognitive load for the Developer while working to standardize adoption across the Organization.Work as part of a virtual team of engineers responsible for defining and driving technology standards across the Engineering teamsContinue to build and maintain positive customer relationship with team you supportPresent service/solution architecture to larger audience and provide regular status to the stakeholders
