About Power System Studies Engineer

  Description

  Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Power System Studies Engineer forour Denver, CO office.Minimum 10 years related experience with High Voltage Transmission Systemstudies using PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN or CAPEKnowledge of NERC reliability requirements and regional reliability councilssuch as PJM, MISO, NPCC, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ERCOT, NYISOAbility to perform analytical studies and review work by others regardingpower supply systems up to 500 kV:Steady-state power flowDynamic stabilityVoltage collapseTransient system performanceShort-circuit calculationsTransmission line constantsDynamic transmission line element ratingsSystem Impact StudiesGenerator Interconnection StudiesBreaker coordination and relay settings

  Other preferred skills:Experience with 500 kV phase shifting transformers, dynamic breakingresistors, and filter banks a plus.Proficient with SEL acSELerator software.PE or ability to obtain one within one year strongly preferred, but notrequired.Organized and detail oriented when documenting and performing tasks.Strong technical writing and communication skills and ability to interact withpeers, project partners, utilities, and independent system operators.Salary Range: Base Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actualcompensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education,experience, skillset, and/or location.
