　　The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. 　　Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience

　　Required Education:

　　Appropriate PhDPreferred Education and Experience:

　　PhD in synthetic chemistry or medicinal chemistry

　　1-2 years postdoctoral experience in multi-step organic synthesis

　　Experience with optimization and SAR studies of lead compounds

　　Lab management experience

　　Experience in writing manuscripts

　　Experience working with individuals and communities ​

　　Experience with manuscript composition

　　Job Responsibilities

　　Search prior arts data bases (Scifinder, Reaxys, Pubmed, Sciencedirect etc.) relevant to the assigned project to formulate a research plan

　　Identify and apply proper methodologies to carry out the synthesis of target molecules.

　　Trouble shooting and improve the synthesis in a timely manner.

　　Evaluate and interpret SAR data.

　　Write progress reports and technical documents.

　　Assists the PI to manage the lab routine research activities

　　Complies with all state and university policies

　　Demonstrates intermediate to expert skills with Microsoft office software, and is able to learn and use institutional software systems.

　　May carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s objectives, policies and applicable laws.

　　Performs other duties as assigned.
